My Nature Diary 2019
This year has been very varied in weather. We have had long bouts of dry weather, especially in spring and early summer. At the time of writing, 12th July, we have just experienced unseasonal storms, tremendous gales and heavy rain. However, our spring-fed well is still very low and the stream that borders Tredivett Mill Nature Reserve is also still very low – no longer sluggish, but very low.
It seemed a good time to record the first part of the year’s residents and visitors. It has been a very good year for birds, dragonflies and butterflies, and even mammals. The big disappointment is that for two years we have not seen common lizards.
